Tulip Poplar – (Liriodendron tulipifera) is one of the most attractive and tallest hardwood trees native to eastern North America. The Tulip Poplars thrive throughout the United States in a variety of climates and temperature extremes. Used as a shade tree for large landscapes as it can reach 60 – 90 feet in height with a 30 to 50 foot spread. A fast growing well formed shade tree and a popular best seller.
In spring, you suddenly notice some yellow tulip shaped flowers on your tree and by the next day it is smothered in thousands of blooms that emit a delightful nectar fragrance. During summer you enjoy a beautiful well shaped green shade tree. In the fall, four-lobed bright green leaves (to 8” across) turn golden yellow. When other trees are turning brown, your Tulip Poplar tree “pops” with bright yellow leaves. A tree for all seasons.
The perfect tree for wildlife lovers! Birds – including ruby-throated hummingbirds, cardinals and finches – and other small wildlife… are drawn to the blooms and sweet smelling nectar.
The Tulip Poplar is highly resistant to disease and insects, making this a healthy tree that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment. Easy to grow and thrives in almost all areas!
