The ‘Little Girl’ Magnolia series is a group of hybrid magnolias developed to address the problem with unpredictable late freezes that can ruin the promise of a beautiful spring. Their flowers appear later than other deciduous magnolia by two to three weeks. The blooms of these hybrids range from deep pink purple coloring to light pink purple with the darkest coloration at the base fading to lighter shades at the blossom apex. Their blooms are usually 4 to 6 inches across having 8 to 12 tulip shaped petals . Very adaptable and small enough to use in small landscapes. Hardy in zones 4-8
Plant in average soil with good drainage. Plant in full sun for best blooms but will tolerate part sun, often having sporadic blooms appear throughout the summer. Slow growth habit. Use as an accent plant, mass planting or general garden use.
