Dwarf Fountain Grass (Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’

Perfect Grass for small spaces with its fine textured arching, deep green narrow leaves and compact rounded shape. One of the most versatile of all grasses and one of the most popular. Leaves are deep green in summer and changes over to a orange bronze in fall. Grows to a accommodating height of two feet while maintaining its fountain shape. Impressive silvery / white, wheat-like tufts arch outward from the clump in late summer. Flower spikes turn brownish as the seed forms, and lasts until late fall.
Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Hameln’ has proven to be troubl-free and reliable, requiring little maintenance. Plant in full sun and water in until established after which time it tolerates dry conditions. Cut to the ground each winter/early spring.
